Week 3

This week I worked on ideas on what I wanted the visual poem to be about. I liked the idea of feeling like a day dream and being in math class in school visioning about what I would be like growing up. I thought of the idea that when I look at myself in the mirror I have more confidence than I ever thought I would have. I also think that I look completely different than I would have thought. I have been trying to think about how colors and rhythm can convey the ideas. I researched how we use rhythm in how we speak and how that can make something have a poetic feel to it. https://www.bbcmaestro.com/blog/rhythm-in-writing

The idea of writing with rhythm can possibly be translated into a visual form as colors can have feelings attached to them.

Week 2

After doing much research on the color organ and how other people have interpreted it I got inspiration from Yale's performance of it and how they performed a Russian sound poem. I thought that using light to articulate a sound could be interesting. In my own interpretation of it I think about "composing" a story using only light to be performed about escapism and dreams. I think about how people daydream during boring parts of their day and play videogames and have hobbies to escape the pressures of the world around us. Using light and darkness to articulate these ideas I think could be very interesting. I think about how when I daydream I do not physically hear what I am thinking about but I can almost see it so the instrument taking a form of a piano can be interesting as well as an almost subdued version of music.

The labs have taught me how to use resistors and determine how many volts are going through a circuit. I have also learned what a short circuit is and how to prevent it. Learning how to wire simple circuits is very interesting and fun when it works and you get the led light to light up. I did not realize that led lights were a polarized object and it was interesting learning how to orient them.

My First Post

This is the first post for my blog. I don't really know what to write about so I will write about what I did during winter break. I first worked a little bit. It was nice and steady at work so it was kind of fun. I then went north to visit my family. It was nice seeing how my brother did during his first semester as a college student and how he was enjoying being an engineering student. My parents brought me to The College Football Hall of Fame so that was pretty cool. They had different things where you took a couple selfies at the beginning before you went into the physical museum and answered questions about your favorite team and least favorite team so when you went around to the virtual exhibits it automatically displayed information about your favorite teams and favorite rivalries. There were also places where you scan in and it used AI image generation to put you into crowds or see what you could have looked like as a fan in the 1980's tailgating or the 60's wearing a suit to the games. I also got to catch up with some old friends from high school which was a ton of fun. I got to relax a lot as well and crotchet some stuffed animals which was nice. Overall I had a nice and relaxing break and it was fun visiting some friends and my family.
